Japanese sanitary giant Unicharm has completed acquisition of a Myanmar sanitary supplier Myanmar Care Products, the Japanese side confirmed Thursday.
Unicharm acquired a Singaporean entity which owned 88 percent stake in Myanmar Care Products through a Thai subsidiary in April, Jiji Press reported.
Remaining stakes were bought Thursday, the company said.
Thanks to the deal, Unicharm has become the largest sanitary product and diaper supplier in Myanmar market.
Myanmar Care was established in 1995 while the international brands left the country due to economic sanctions.
Since then, it has established a time-honoured reputation of the top sanitary goods supplier in the Southeast Asian country.
