Japanese businesses search for local partners in Myanmar

Representatives from over 50 Japanese firms met with Myanmar entrepreneurs on August 6 to seek partnerships in the manufacturing and packaging business.
The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) facilitated the meeting at the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Yangon.
“To import some of Myanmar products to Japanese market and to distribute our Japanese products in Myanmar, we’ve come here to look for a business partner,” an executive from Nippon Kaihatsu Meat said.
Those attending the meeting include businessmen from different sectors such as energy and power, construction, real estate, consumer goods, clothing, warehousing, cement, machinery, car spare parts and information technology.
