Asia’s largest budget carrier AirAsia will launch a direct flight between Nay Pyi Taw and Bangkok in October ahead of XXVII SEA Games, according to state-run Myanma Alinn report.
Myanmar will host the biggest sports event in Southeast Asia in coming December in three major cities Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay, and Ngwehsaung beach.
The Malaysia-based airline is preparing to get official permit to launch the flight from Don Maeuang Airport of Bangkok and Nay Pyi Taw Airport.
There is virtually no international flight landing the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport a few months ago.
AirAsia is getting itself ready to become a leading regional airport for ASEAN Economic Community that will come to life in later 2015.
The airline’s new Nay Pyi Taw-Bangkok itinerary is aimed at providing low-cost flights to SEA Games athletes and supporters.
